Robert P. Freeman - Senior Managing Director and Principal

Mr. Freeman is co-founder and the Senior Managing Director of Greyfields. Mr. Freeman is also the Managing Principal and Chief Investment Officer of Landfall Capital LLC , a real estate merchant banking firm headquartered in New York.

Mr. Freeman co-founded and served as President, Chief Investment Officer and a Senior Principal of Lazard Frères Real Estate Investors from 1992 to 1999. In building Lazard's mezzanine and equity investment program from inception, he ultimately oversaw the activities of four real estate investment funds that controlled $10 billion in total assets and oversaw $3 billion in equity. He was also a Managing Director of Lazard Frères & Co.

Mr. Freeman has been active as a real estate developer since the 1970s, having owned and successfully built office buildings, shopping centers, apartments, condominiums and self-storage facilities. He has served as President and CEO of two publicly traded real estate companies with national portfolios, Perini Investment Properties and Realty Income Trust, respectively. Mr. Freeman also served as a General Partner of Little & Casler, a management buyout firm.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of UDR (NYSE: UDR), the nation's fourth largest public apartment REIT, and has served as Chair of both its Audit and Compensation Committees. Mr. Freeman served for four years as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Scenic Hudson, a pioneering environmental organization focused on preserving the vitality and character of the Hudson River Valley and is active in its conservation efforts.

Mr. Freeman earned a BA from Stanford University and a JD from Harvard University. He is a full member of the Urban Land Institute.
